September means time for fall decorating to begin! Even though it is technically still summer for a couple of more weeks, I created this easy Fall porch update.

In the past I would get overwhelmed by all the seasonal decorations and spend unnecessary money on items that could only be used for a short period each year.
Seasonal decorations are cute and fun but not always practical when decorating on a budget. I try to limit specific seasonal items.
Limiting seasonal specific items allows for the ability to move pieces around my home for a quick refresh without buying new items.
I tend to take the task of reusing decor pieces I already own as a challenge, and the result is so rewarding!
As I mentioned, this year I wanted to simply my fall look in the front of my home. I utilized a variety of items that I already own for this easy Fall porch update.

Some Fall Amazon Finds…
Flower Baskets
I recently reorganized some storage areas in my home and found these perfect baskets. I typically cheat and will put a plant directly into the basket in its original plastic container for sake of ease and the ability to reuse my basket later.

This quick update elevates the look instantly for the Fall season without much effort.
The Layered Look
Layering items helps the visual appeal of any arrangement. Using the idea of creating a triangle shape, along with different heights allows for increased dimension.
The white planters I use all year round by relocating them and modifying the contents.

Mixing materials can additionally aide in your design by providing texture and attraction to your arrangement.
Accent Table
I personally like having a small table on my porch. I typically switch up the table based on season (I may have a few tables in my basement).
Moving items around inside and outside the home every few months creates a quick refresh, but without the expenses of buying new decor pieces!

This table I have included in this quick fall update is of particular interest as it is handmade with a live wood edge by my mother’s cousin. The dark stain and dark metal legs add a dark color for Fall and provide texture with the flowers.
Here is a budget option on Amazon with great reviews for a similar look.
Luckily, my porch has great coverage from the weather elements. Upstate NY has unpredictable weather which can create challenges for outdoor decorating and often times strategy is necessary.
Adding in Faux Florals
I love adding faux flowers to create a look together with live plants, plus one less plant to water!
Faux flowers are easy to work with and of course no mess!
Buying faux florals is an investment, but one well worth it. One of the things I have learned is when I see some that I REALLY love, I pick it up when I see it to have as part of my collection and I NEVER regret it!
Battery Powered Candles
These battery powered candles are so pretty! They are the easy, and only require a couple of batteries, have a remote, along with a timer. Did I forget to mention, that these candles are also budget and kid friendly?

I love the iridescent gold color of these candles and were the perfect item to include in my easy Fall porch update. I bought these at HomeGoods, but you can find similar here on Amazon.
Seasonal Pillows
As I mentioned early, I try not to invest in seasonal only décor, however I previously owned these pillows and felt that they were best served as part of my porch update for Fall.

I love my white Polywood rocking chairs that we were gifted to us shortly after moving into this home. They hold up well against the elements and are low maintenance. If you are interested in Polywood furniture you can check out my post here with my unbiased review of our other Polywood outdoor furniture here.
